India’s Constitution has undergone many changes since its original inception during British Colonialism through to its present status as an independent Republic (in 1950). Eventually, the concept of a ‘Constituent Assembly’ was accepted as well, which culminated in the adoption of India’s Constitution on November 26th, 1949 and for implementation on January 26th, 1950 via a system of self-government. Additionally, this historically significant topic is often examined in SSC’s, JKSSB’s, Banking’s etc., and therefore students preparing for exams should have an extensive knowledge of key Acts, key events and prominent people throughout this transition time.
